Children's Tutoring Program

  • The program provides support for children from low-income families who are experiencing academic difficulties.
  • Our goal is to enhance children's self-esteem and their ability to learn and achieve.
  • Offered to children in grades 1-3, mainly to enhance their literacy levels.

Results

  • One hundred and twenty two children received tutoring in 2005/2006
  • 55 volunteers participated in the program providing 3243 volunteer hours

Tutors Comments

  • "A great deal of satisfaction in helping these children with reading. Feel I'm contributing to the community in a meaningful way."
